If you enjoy music, cupcakes, skating or poker or if you want to get rid of your stash of pennies, take in any of these events and help the Calgary Food Bank at the same time.

The Calgary Food Bank is hosting several events until March 4, with the full proceeds going to the organization that helps feed those in need.

The proceeds of the seven events including like One Love Inter Faith concert, Crave’s cupcake party and a poker tournament will go to the Calgary Food Bank.

Feb. 9:

Crave’s Cupcake Party: Crave Cookies & Cupcakes will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Aspen Glen Landing southwest location.

An on-site donation of two non-perishable food items will magically open the secret door. You’ll be swept into the den of sugar and spice to decorate your very own Crave cupcake, make a Valentine’s Day card and have a little festive fun!

Feb. 16:

One Love Interfaith benefit concert will be held at Living Spirit United Church at 7 p.m. at 629 49 Avenue SW. The concert will be a celebration of diversity featuring performers from Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Aboriginal and Christian communities. Tickets are only $5, and all proceeds go to the Calgary Food Bank. Reserve yours at 403.243.3180.

February 21:

APICS Calgary Chapter is hosting a 50/50 Texas Hold ’em Poker Tourney Social Event from 6 p.m. onwards at Deerfoot Inn & Casino.

Tables will be organized based on players’ experience so you don’t have to know what you’re doing to pull up a chair. There is a $60 buy-in, and half of this will be donated to the Calgary Food Bank. Registration is required. Be sure to bring your poker face!

February 23:

As part of the annual Kinsmen Club of Calgary food drive, Calgarians are encouraged to drop off a non-perishable food or cash donation at any of the three participating Safeway stores between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

In just four years, this campaign has raised almost $70,000. The safeway stores are located at Westhills, Crowfoot and Shaughnessy.

Feb. 4 – March 4

Penny-Polooza: With the help of Servus Credit Union, you can send your pennies into retirement proudly. Until March 4, all Calgary Servus Credit Union branches will accept your pennies on behalf of the Calgary Food Bank.

Skate to win: Skate for free every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:10 p.m. (excluding Feb 18) at Calgary Olympic Oval until March 4 when you bring a designated Co-op Gold product for the month.

This month it’s the 700 g box of Co-op’s Crisp Rice cereal. You also have a chance to enter the Skate to Win contest, for monthly prizes as well as the $1,000 Calgary Co-op gift card grand prize. All food collected will be donated to the Calgary Food Bank.
