Two people escaped blaze in detached Dover Glen home
Dover Glen fire claims the life of one person
One person is dead after a fire at a single family home in the southeast Calgary neighbourhood of Dover Glen on Monday evening.
Crews from the Calgary Fire Department were called to the home at approximately 7:30 p.m., on Monday, August 6. When they arrived, they found heavy smoke billowing from the home.
Firefighters were able to quickly get inside the home and contain the fire to the area of origin.
Two people managed to escape the fire, but one person died in the blaze. Fire crews found the person, who has only been described by the CFD as not a child, during their search of the home.
The home sustained heavy smoke damage and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The fire is currently under investigation.
