CPS officers searching for Martindale shooting suspect
Police are looking for Nihad Ibrahim in connection with a shooting on Monday morning in Martindale
Calgary Police are searching for 52-year old Nihad Abdullah Ibrahim of Calgary after a shooting in the northeast community of Martindale on Monday morning.
Canada-wide warrants have been issued for the arrest of the Nihad Ibrahim after he allegedly shot his common-law wife as she was running from her home during the early morning hours of Monday. The woman’s home is located in the 600 block of Martindale Blvd N.E.
Neighbours reported hearing gunshots at around 12:45 a.m., on Monday, August 20 and called police. Despite the quick arrival of CPS members, Ibrahim escaped and police are now searching for the 52-year old suspect. The victim in this shooting is Ibrahim’s common-law wife who has been hospitalized and is in stable condition.
Nihad Ibrahim is described as 5’9″ tall, 180 pounds with a medium build. He has brown hair and brown eyes and is being sought on the following warrants:
- attempted murder
- aggravated assault
- discharging a firearm with intent
- pointing a firearm
- assault with a weapon
- break and enter
- possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- 5 X failing to comply
On Tuesday, August 7, Ibrahim was charged in connection with a domestic-related incident at the home and, as part of his release conditions, was ordered to have no contact with his common-law wife. Ignoring the order, he was arrested on Sunday, August 12 after breaching conditions by entering her home and having contact with her.
