Woman died at the scene of the crash
Fatal collision near Rocky Mountain House on Monday, August 6
Rocky Mountain House RCMP are investigating a fatal collision that took the life of a woman driving a motorcycle on Monday, August 6.
The collision occurred just after noon on Highway 11, west of Rocky Mountain House.
Corporal Shawna Lozinski of the Rocky Mountain House RCMP says investigators believe that a woman who was westbound on a Suzuki LS650 motorcycle crossed the centre line of the highway and hit an eastbound SUV head on.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver and lone occupant of the SUV was not injured.
Corporal Lozinski says it is believed that alcohol nor speed were factors in the collision.
The name of the deceased woman is not being released at this time.
