Stegemeier arrested on August 7 in Albert Park area
Glenn Stegemeier has been arrested and charged in connection with two attacks on women in southeast Calgary
After two attacks on women by a man riding a bicycle in southeast Calgary, police brought in extra officers, including plainclothes members, to attempt to find the suspect in the attacks.
Late on Tuesday, August 7, officers spotted a man matching the description of the suspect in the area of Radcliffe Drive S.E. Glenn Stegemeier was arrested and charges have since been laid against the 47-year old Calgary man.
Glenn Stegemeier was charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of assault and one count of committing an indecent act in public.
The first incident occurred at about 4 a.m., on Tuesday, July 10. A woman was walking near 28 St and 9 Ave S.E., when she was approached by a man riding a bike. As the man rode past her, he allegedly grabbed her breast. He then rode off in an unknown direction.
In the second attack, a 21-year old woman was walking in the 800 block of 32 St S.E., at approximately 1:30 a.m. She was approached by a man on a bike who was naked from the waist down. He circled the woman repeatedly before grabbing her arm. The woman screamed and the suspect rode away.
Stegemeier appeared in Calgary court on Thursday, August 9.
