A woman in her mid-20s was cut from a car by the Calgary Fire Department after it crashed through an attached garage and hit the house early Saturday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m. the CFD responded to the 3100 block of Palliser Drive S.W. for reports of a single vehicle collision with a building.

Upon arrival crew discovered that a car had crashed into and passed through a double-attached front drive garage, coming to rest against the front of the house.

CFD investigators say the four occupants in the vehicle were estimated to be in their mid-20s.

One female patient was trapped inside the vehicle and the three remaining occupants were out of the car upon arrival.

Fire crews rescued the trapped patient using hydraulic extrication tools and transferred her care to EMS.

No other injuries were reported.

The Calgary Fire Department Heavy Recue Team assessed, stabilized and secured the building.

The collision caused extensive damage to the attached garage and minor cosmetic damage to the house, according to the CFD.

The CFD left the scene in care of the Calgary Police Service.
