Travis Baumgartner appeared in an Edmonton court room Thursday morning and according to media reports was stone-faced was his case was put over to July 5.

Baumgartner is the armoured car guard accused of killing three of his colleagues and critically injuring a fourth during an armed robbery just after midnight June 15 at the University of Alberta’s HUB Mall. Michelle Shegelski, 26, Eddy Rejano, 39, and Brian Ilesic, 35, were employees of G4S Canada making a regular restocking run to ATM machines when they were brutally gunned down.

A fourth guard, Matthew Schuman, remains in critical condition in University Hospital.

Travis Baumgartner allegedly fled with $330,000 in cash in his Ford F-150 pick up truck and was arrested trying to enter into Washington State at the Abbotsford, BC border crossing the next day.

Edmonton police brought Baumgartner back to Edmonton Wednesday. Investigators have still not found Baumgartner’s G4S firearm or body armour.

He has been remanded into custody on three counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder, and four counts of armed robbery.

Alberta’s Chief Crown Prosecutor Stephen Billodeau will be prosecuting the case.
