Suspect in U of A robbery , Travis Baumgartner is back in Edmonton
Travis Baumgartner, the man accused of a triple murder, has been returned to Edmonton. He arrived in the capital city on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 20.
Travis Baumgartner was processed on warrants for three counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder and four counts of robbery with a firearm.
Edmonton Police report that Baumgartner has been moved to the Edmonton Remand centre where he will await his first court date scheduled for Thursday, June 21.
A manhunt for Travis Baumgartner was launched after three armed guards were killed and one seriously injured in an alleged robbery and the University of Alberta Hub Mall on Friday, June 15. Baumgartner was the prime suspect early on in the investigation.
Baumgartner was arrested on Saturday, June 16, as he attempted to cross into the U.S., at the Lynden, Washington border crossing. Travis Baumgartner was driving the same truck police were looking for and he had no passport and was carrying only his own driver’s licence. Officers allegedly found over $300,000 in the pickup truck.
