Police say attack was targeted

Police are looking for three suspects are a Calgary man was stabbed during a violent home invasion in the southwest quadrant Saturday morning.
Around 8 a.m. Calgary Police were called to the 200 block of Shawmeadows Road S.W. for a report of an assault.
When police arrived at the home, officers located a 36-year old man suffering from be stab wounds. He was transported by EMS to the hospital in serious, non-life threatening condition, according to Duty Inspector Paul Stacey.
Early witness accounts indicate three unknown male culprits, disguised masks, entered the home and attacked the victim. The three then fled the home on foot in an unknown direction.
There is no further description of the offenders at this time, according to Stacey.
Police Canine Units attended the scene and with the assistance of other responding units attempted unsuccessfully to locate suspects.
Police say the motive for the attack is unclear and will be a key point in the ensuing investigation.
Police do not believe this was a random event, but rather a targeted attack. There is no indication at this point to suggest the incident is gang-related.
