21-month old girl unconscious and not breathing when emergency crews arrived
Police investigate after toddler seriously injured at day home in southeast Calgary
Calgary Police are investigating the serious injury of a little girl at a private day home in the southeast Calgary neighbourhood of McKenzie Towne.
Emergency crews were called concerning a 21-month old girl in distress at a home in the 0-100 block of Elgin Heath S.E., just before 1 p.m. When crews arrived, the girl was found unconscious and not breathing.
The little girl was rushed to Alberta Children’s Hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Because of the seriousness of her injuries, the CPS Major Crimes Section has taken over the investigation.
Calgary Police say there were three other kids in the private day home at the time of the incident.
Fortunately no one was home at a southwest bungalow on Sunday morning when a 1/2 ton truck crashed into the home and ended up resting completely inside the residence.
