Police asking for public’s help locating black male and white female suspects
500 block of 56 Ave. S.W., Calgary, Alberta.
A three-year old child was nearly snatched from the backyard of a southwest Calgary home Tuesday evening and police are looking for two suspects who were chased off by the mother.
Around 6 p.m. police were called to the 500 block of 56 Ave. S.W. to investigate an attempted child abduction.
The child was playing at the rear of the residence when the mother, who was inside the home at the time, heard a scream. When the mother went outside to investigate, she saw two strangers holding her child. She confronted them, they put the child down and fled the area on foot.
The Calgary Police Service was called and circulated the area for the culprits, but were unable to locate them.
The child was unharmed.
Police are describing the male suspect as a dark-skinned black man, 30 to 40-years old, 6′ to 6’2″ with a very skinny build. The female suspect is white, 30 to 40-years old and 5’6″ with a heavy build.
