No one injured in suspicious fire on Eden Valley First Nation

Turner Valley RCMP are hoping Eden Valley First Nation residents will help police investigate a suspicious fire that occurred on the First Nation reserve on Tuesday, April 3.

At just after 2:30 a.m., on April 3, Turner Valley RCMP, who were on a regular patrol of the area, saw that house #67 was on fire.  Constable Tom Christie of the Turner Valley RCMP says police called in the Longview Fire Department, but despite their efforts, the house was a total loss.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in the blaze.

Police and fire investigators have not yet determined the official cause of the fire, but the house fire is very suspicious and the preliminary investigation points to arson as a possible cause.

Anyone with any information on the fire is asked to contact the RCMP on the Eden Valley First Nation or Turner Valley RCMP at 403 933 7227.  You can also call Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222 8477.
