Second degree murder charges laid against Mark Damien Lindsay of Edmonton in the murder of Dana Turner

On Thursday, March 15, 25-year old Mark Damien Lindsay of Edmonton was charged with second degree murder in the death of 31-year old Dana Turner of Fort Saskatchewan. Lindsay is also facing charges of indignity to a body and obstruction of justice.
Mark Lindsay was arrested in the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam, B.C. He will be transported to Alberta to appear before a Justice of the Peace to set a date for his first court appearance. RCMP will release that information when it is known.
On August 16, 2011, Dana Turner was reported missing to the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP detachment. She was last seen at the Quality Inn West Harvest in Edmonton at 7 a.m., on August 14th, 2011 with an unknown man. Dana Turner was driving a rental car that was found on September 23. Police did not release any information concerning where the car was discovered.
On October 9, 2011, the remains of Dana Turner were found approximately 10 Kilometres west of Innisfail.
Charges laid against Mark Damien Lindsay “were laid as a result of the in depth investigation conducted by the RCMP Serious Crimes Branch. A number of units were utilized in this investigation including Edmonton Major Crimes Unit, Fort Saskatchewan Detachment, Fort Saskatchewan General Investigative Section, Edmonton Police Service Missing Person Unit, Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit, Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office, RCMP National Forensics Lab, Innisfail RCMP Detachment, RCMP Forensic Identification Units and the Red Deer and Calgary Major Crimes Unit”, says Tim Taniguchi of the RCMP.
