Police believe alcohol and speed involved in crash
Serious crash in Taradale on Wednesday evening
A 39-year old man who was riding a motorcycle in the northeast was seriously injured when he lost control of the bike and crashed into a fence on Wednesday evening.
The accident occurred at just before 8 p.m., on 64 Ave N.E., near Tarington Road N.E, on March 21. Witnesses to the crash said the driver was speeding on his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a corner in the road. The bike then struck a chain link fence and the rider was thrown 20-30 metres through the air.
The man was taken to Foothills Hospital by EMS with life threatening head and back injuries.
Police believe alcohol and speed may be factors in the collision. The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating the accident.
