Get your pancakes 100 days early
On Thursday, March 29, Olympic Plaza will turn into a mini Stampede grounds, complete with pancakes, square dancers and Paul Brandt will be entertaining the crowd.
The party is to get Calgarians excited about the upcoming 100 year anniversary of the Calgary Stampede. The day has been proclaimed as “Dress Western Day” by Mayor Naheed Nenshi, so dust off your cowboy boots, hats and buckles and mosey on down to the big party between 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m.
Not in the mood for pancakes? Calgary’s five food trucks will be circle their wagons at Olympic Plaza and offering up some amazing food for only a buck-a-truck.
Also, the Calgary Stampede will be announcing the Stampede Marshal for the parade as well as what Calgarians can expect this July at the Stampede.
Everyone in Calgary is invited to attend. Remember, its a once-in-a-lifetime event! And, the first 5.000 cowboys and cowgirls to arrive at Olympic Plaza will receive a commemorative cowbell.
