Gun fired during robbery attempt

A shot rang out during an attempted bank robbery at the Royal Bank located at the Signal Hill Centre S.W., in Calgary.  

The lone robber walked into the bank at approximately 2:45 p.m.  Once inside, the suspect approached the teller and informed the bank employee that he was robbing the bank and he then demanded cash.  During the attempted robbery, the gun was fired and then the would-be robber fled the bank before getting any money.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his mid 30’s .  He weighs between 140-160 pounds, slim build and dirty appearance.  He has medium length brown hair, days growth of beard, overgrown goatee, sunglasses and black leather gloves.
