Fatal motorcycle crash in Calgary’s southeast

Crash occurred at 36 St and 19 Ave S.E.

Motorcyclist pronounced dead at scene

Witnesses report that speed may have been a factor in a fatal motorcycle crash in the southeast on Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred at just before 3 p.m., at the intersection of 36 St and 19 Ave S.E.  A red Dodge Ram pickup truck, heading north on 36 St, turned left on to 19 Ave S.E., when it was struck a southbound yellow Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The 38-year old motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash.  The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating and is asking for anyone that may have witnessed the collision to contact Sergeant Daran Wood at 403-567-4000.
