2012 STARS lottery launches today

Starting today, you can buy your 2012 STARS Air Ambulance lottery ticket.  There are five grand prizes in the lottery including four homes throughout Alberta and a truck and fifth wheel worth almost $130,000.  

In total, there are over 3,200, prizes up for grabs in the lottery which supports the operation of STARS Air Ambulance.  ”STARS flies an average of four missions a day in Alberta, and we could not continue to do this without your support of the STARS Lottery,” says Dr. Greg Powell, CEO of STARS.

The five grand prizes in the lottery are valued at over $3.7 million retail.  The homes that will be drawn for are located in Calgary, Sylvan Lake, Sherwood Park and Lethbridge.  In Calgary, the lottery home is located at 1 Crestridge Rise, S.W.  The Sylvan Lake lottery home can be viewed at 1 Rosewood Rise in Ryders Ridge and the Sherwood Park home is located at 155 Campbell Dr.  Finally, the Lethbridge home is located at 490 Lynx Terrace N.  Show home hours vary, so check out the times at http://www.starslottery.ca/grand-prizes.php#1

Also up for grabs are two great early bird prizes:  a $100,000 cash prize and a 2012 Mercedes ML 350 with a four night Las Vegas vacation package for two at Mandalay Bay, plus $5,000 in cash.

There are ten vehicles, 35 vacations, 2,223 electronic prizes and 850 other great prizes, including cash, furniture, jewellery and luggage offered in the draw.  Two lucky winners will also enjoy a flight of a lifetime aboard a STARS helicopter.

You can purchase your STARS lottery tickets by going to www.starslottery.ca or by calling 1-888-880-0992.  Ticket buyers will be eligible for all 3,200 draws as after each draw, winning tickets go back into the draw drum for the remaining draws.

There are 25,000 single tickets available at $25 each, 25,000 sets of three tickets for $60, 106,000 sets of 6 for $100 and 20,500 sets of 18 for $250 available.  The total number of tickets available for sale is 1,105,000.

The early bird draw will be held on March 15 and ticket sales for the early bird draw are cut off on February 29, 2012 at midnight.  The final draw is set for April 12 and the ticket sale cut off is March 21, 2012.  If all the tickets sell out early, the draw will be held on the early bird draw date on March 15.

STARS is a charitable, non-profit organization that provides air ambulance service 24 hours a day, seven days a week from bases in Calgary, Edmonton and Grande Prairie.
