Victim run over by grain truck
A 44-year old Nampa woman was killed on Monday when she was hit by a grain truck just outside of the northwestern Alberta village of Nampa.
The accident occurred on December 19 at around 5:30 p.m. Peace Regional RCMP were called in to the scene where they found the deceased 44-year old woman. Sergeant Jesse Onaissi of the Peace Regional RCMP says police believe the woman was backed over by a large semi truck that was loading grain at the time of the accident.
So far the investigation indicates that the woman could not be seen by the driver because she was standing directly behind the truck as the driver reversed the vehicle. She was killed instantly.
Police do not believe that alcohol is a factor in the tragedy and criminal charges are not being considered. The name of the deceased woman is not being released at this time.
At around midnight on December 8, Peace River RCMP were called out to a single vehicle accident north of Peace River on Highway 986, near Range Road 214.
