Police are looking for the driver of a light coloured Jeep after a fatal hit and run pedestrian/car accident on Macleod Trail on Friday night.
The accident occurred at just before 9:30 p.m., on Macleod Trail, just north of 4 Ave S.E. A 22-year old woman was struck by a vehicle, which police now believe was a light coloured Jeep with a dark top. The vehicle then fled the scene of the accident. The woman was taken to hospital where she died from her injuries.
Police believe the Jeep may now have minor damage to the front passenger side. It was last seen traveling eastbound on Riverfront Avenue from Macleod Trail S.E.
The Calgary Police Traffic Section is investigating the accident and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Sergeant Daran Wood at 403 567 4000 or Sergeant Greg Mercer at 403 567 4053. Witnesses can also contact Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
