Drunk driver crashes into home in Drumheller

A 35-year old Drumheller man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly drove into a house and then fled the scene of the accident.

At about 2:30 a.m., on September 25, the Drumheller RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible explosion on 5 St E., in the town of Drumheller.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee had struck the corner of a house and the driver had left the scene.  Cst. R. Pergunas of the Drumheller RCMP adds that no one inside the house was injured.

A witness along with police preliminary investigation quickly lead police to the driver of the vehicle who was suffering from injuries as a result of the crash.

The vehicle and the home were extensively  damaged as a result of the collision.  The driver, a 35-year old man from Drumheller is facing numerous charges including impaired driving and leaving the scene of a collision.
