Midnapore IDA Pharmacy robbed at knifepoint

One man has been arrested after a robbery at a pharmacy in Midnapore and police are looking for a second man they believe was also involved in the heist.

At around 8:30 p.m., on Thursday, two men armed with knives entered the IDA Pharmacy located at 240 Midpark Way S.E.   One of the robbers approached the pharmacist, threatened him with a knife and demanded narcotics.  The two robbers got assorted narcotics, including Oxycontin, and then fled the store in an older model full size domestic car.

About 40 minutes later a vehicle matching the description of the getaway car was found in downtown Calgary.  There were three people inside the vehicle and they were taken into custody.  One of the occupants of the car is facing robbery and weapons related charges.

Calgary police are still looking for a second male who is described as a Native male, 5’8″ tall with a slim build, weighing about 165 pounds and is about 30 years old.  At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a white hat, a black hooded sweater, black pants and sunglasses.
