Firefighters called in to evict python
The Calgary Fire Department was called in just after 5 a.m. on Wednesday to deal with an abandoned eight foot long python in a suite in the northwest.
The call came in after the snake inadvertently turned on the water in the bathtub and neighbours were alerted to the presence of the reptile. When firefighters arrived the discovered the eight foot long python in a bathtub in the empty suite. The snake appeared to be well fed and generally healthy.
A Calgary veterinarian offered to care for the snake which then had to be transported by the six person fire crew on the fire truck to the veterinarian’s office.
