Louise Loretta Chamakese, 37, of Calgary has been charged in connection with several collisions in downtown Calgary on Sunday August 7.
Police allege that Chamakese is the driver of the car responsible for a series of hit and run offences that first began at about 12:20 p.m.
Police were able to track down the driver in the 100 block of 61 Ave S.E., but police allege Chamakese failed to stop for police officers. The HAWC helicopter was called in to action and multiple police units converged on the car and driver on Canyon Meadows Drive.
Chamakese has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of dangerous driving. The investigation is ongoing and further charges against Chamakese are pending. She will appear in court on Monday August 15.
