Speed a likely factor in collision on Burma Rd.

Cochrane RCMP report one person is dead following a single vehicle collision on Burma Rd early on Saturday morning.

The crash occurred on Sunday at about 3 a.m., just west of Bearspaw Rd.

Cpl. Mel Calahasen of the Cochrane RCMP says police believe the driver of a 2013 black Dodge Challenger was westbound on Burma Rd, nearing Bearspaw Rd when the driver lost control of the car.  The vehicle left the road and went through a number of fences.

Calahasen says the driver and lone occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

At this time, police believe speed was a factor in the Burma Rd crash.

The name of the driver has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The crash is under investigation and RCMP as anyone who witnessed to collision on Burma Rd to call the Cochrane RCMP at 403 851 8000.
