South Calgary arson suspects are two youths
The Calgary Police have arrested two youths in connection with a number of arsons in south Calgary beginning in May of this year.
Between May 1 and July 10, police believe the two suspects set nine fires in the south end of the city. The fires were started in recycling bins and on parked, unattended vehicles.
At around 4 a.m., on Tuesday, CPS officers noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Bullhead Rd SW. The vehicle was pulled over and two youths were taken into custody without incident and charges are pending.
Due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the two youth involved will not be released. Calgary Police are continuing to investigate the suspected arsons and will release more information once charges have been laid.
