Calgary Police investigate a late-night shooting in northeast Calgary

Northeast Calgary shooting not a random incident.

Calgary Police are investigating and looking to the public for information on the northeast Calgary shooting on McKnight Blvd Tuesday evening.

The shooting occurred at around 10 p.m.  Calgary Police responded to the complaint of shots fired in the area the 5200 block of 4 St NE.  When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered an abandoned Toyota Celica riddled with bullets.

Witnesses reported seeing two people leave the scene prior to the police arriving.

Investigators believe there were two vehicles that left the Denny’s on McKnight Blvd at the same time.  As the vehicles drove off, shots were fired from one of the vehicles, a black Toyota Tundra.

The driver of the truck fled south on Edmonton Trail and west on McKnight Blvd.

Calgary Police investigators do not believe this is a random incident.
