Randall Cardinal charged with second degree murder in death of Jared Brown
Hobbema RCMP have charged a 23-year old man in connection with the murder of 30-year old Jared Brown of Pigeon Lake First Nation on July 16.
Randall Cardinal has been charged with second degree murder.
Cst. Perry Cardinal of the Maskwacis RCMP says a number of police units assisted in the investigation. Hobbema RCMP along with the Forensic Identification Unit, Police Dog Section, Wetaskiwin GIS and Major Crimes investigators all worked on the investigation into the Pigeon Lake First Nation murder.
Cardinal says “the investigation revealed that after a physical confrontation, 30-year old Jared Brown of Pigeon Lake First Nation died s a result of injuries received in the altercation”.
An autopsy performed by the Medical Examiner on July 17 determined that the death of Jared Brown was a homicide.
Randall Cardinal will appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on Thursday.
The charges against Randall Cardinal have not been proven in a court of law.
Pigeon Lake First Nation is about 100 Km southwest of Edmonton.
