Dalin and Logan Torresan, aged 17 and 14, died in two-vehicle crash
Two brothers, Dalin and Logan Torresan were killed in a two vehicle collision east of Edmonton just after noon on Monday.
Cst. Wally Henry of the Strathcona RCMP says the collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 16 and Range Road 213 in eastern Strathcona County, approximately 35 Km east of Edmonton.
Henry says the Torresan brothers were traveling on Range Road 213 in a 1996 Saturn SL1 sedan when they entered the intersection with Highway 16. They were hit broadside by an eastbound pickup truck.
Dalin, 17 and Logan, 14, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
The brothers were from the rural Strathcona County area.
The driver of the pickup truck was a 54-year old man from Willingdon, Alberta. He was transported by ground ambulance to an Edmonton hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Cst. Henry says at this time, police believe the driver of the Saturn failed to proceed safely after stopping at the stop sign.
Traffic in the eastbound lanes of the Yellowhead was reduced to one lane to allow for the police investigation into the crash. Strathcona County Traffic Services and an RCMP Collision Analyst are investigating the collision.
