The City of Calgary has been asking Downtown West Calgary citizens how they would like to improve their neighbourhood since last month.  Now all Calgarians can offer their opinions on how to better the area.

Residents in the area live nearby the Bow River pathways and Calgary’s business district which means a quick commute to a downtown job and a chance to get out and enjoy the beauty of Calgary.

The City feels there is room for improvement though, and is asking Calgarians what they would like to see happen in the area.  The survey asks questions like “What’s your big idea for the Downtown West Neighbourhood?“, “What kinds of development would you most like to see in Downtown West that would increase the feeling of community in the area?” and “What specifically would you like to see done with the old Science Centre building in Downtown West“.

Feedback from the survey will help the City create a new Area Redevelopment Plan for Downtown West Calgary that will help guide how the existing community should develop over time.

Since the launch of the survey in April, community residents have contributed ideas like enhancing public spaces, improving the development of local shopping amenities and in suggesting options for the future of the old Calgary Planetarium site.

Now, the City is expanding the survey to include all Calgarians who live, work and play in Downtown West Calgary.

The City is hoping for widespread participation from every corner of Calgary.

The My Downtown West website will be active through May and June, 2013.
