Police looking for information on downtown Edmonton stabbing

25-year old man injured in Edmonton stabbing in the downtown area during the early morning hours of Friday.

EPS investigators are looking for anyone with information on a downtown Edmonton stabbing early on Friday morning to assist in their investigation.

Leila Daoud of the Edmonton Police Service says the stabbing occurred just before 2:30 a.m. in the area of 109 Ave and 84 St.

When police arrived, they found a 25-year old man suffering with serious stabbing-related injuries.  The man was treated at the scene by EMS and transported to hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

“This investigation is still in the early stages,” says Staff Sergeant Frank Metselaar. “We would urge anyone who may have information about this incident to come forward.”
