Accused charged with luring, extortion, making and accessing child pornography
Sean Rose, a 32-year old Calgary man is facing six child pornography charges after an investigation by Canadian police and United States Homeland Security.
The Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) of ALERT, an integrated team of over 400 police officers from Calgary, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and the RCMP, along with the US Homeland Security investigations Unit worked together in the investigation into the alleged activities of the accused.
The ICE Unit was following up on tips received in Canada about inappropriate online activities by a person with the username “sirphaeton” when it learned about an investigation by US Homeland Security into the same suspect in the United States.
Detective Dean Jacobs of the Southern Alberta ICE Unit says the two police forces then tracked the suspect to a southeast Calgary home. 32-year old Sean Ian Rose was arrested on Mar. 28 without incident.
Sean Rose has been charged with two counts of luring, one count of extortion, making, possessing and accessing child pornography.
The alleged victim is a 14-year old girl from Ontario.

Suspected child sexual exploitation or suspicious online activity may be reported to Canada’s national tipline at www.cybertip.ca.
The charges against Sean Rose have not been proven in court.
