33-year old man died from injuries suffered in Caroline snowmobile crash
The name of the 33-year old man who died in the Caroline snowmobile crash has not been released.
A 33-year old man from the Caroline area has died from injuries he sustained in a snowmobile accident near the village of Caroline.
The crash occurred on Jan. 21, at about 7:30 a.m. Corporal Shawna Lozinski of the Rocky Mountain House RCMP says the man was snowmobiling westbound on a Township road that ended at a “T” intersection. He continued on, after the road ended and crashed into a wooded area.
Rocky Mountain RCMP, Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Service, Sundre EMS and Clearwater Highway Patrol all responded to the scene. The victim was treated at the crash site and airlifted to a hospital in Calgary.
The man has since died as a result of his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Corporal Lozinski says police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time. No charges are pending.
The investigation into the crash is continuing.
Caroline is located approximately 40 Km southeast of Rocky Mountain House.
