Police are investigating the Red Deer stabbing on December 10.

A 48-year old man is recovering after being stabbed in the jaw, palm and calf during an altercation at the parking lot of a Red Deer apartment building.

On December 10, just before 6:30 a.m., Red Deer City RCMP responded to the stabbing complaint at the Pineview Manor Apartments located at 80 Piper Drive in Red Deer.

Corporal Sarah Knelson of the Red Deer City RCMP says police believe a man approached the victim and demanded that he hand over everything he had.  The victim refused to give the robber anything.

The perpetrator then stabbed the victim several times and then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital in Red Deer where he was treated for serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

The suspect in the stabbing is described as a Caucasian man in his 20′s and is of average height.  He was wearing dark clothing and a parka with a hood pulled tightly around his face.
