Pickup truck rolled several times in Vegreville fatal accident
A 44-year old Vegreville woman is dead after a single vehicle rollover accident near Vegreville on the evening of Saturday, August 18.
Sergeant Robin Bittorf of the Vegreville RCMP says witnesses reported seeing the speeding pickup truck heading west on Highway 16. When the driver pulled on to the exit ramp on the east side of Vegreville, the truck lost control and rolled several times in the north ditch.
The driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck was thrown from the vehicle. She was transported to hospital in Vegreville where she succumbed to her injuries and died a short time later.
At this time, police are not releasing the woman’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
