Body of man found in Millwoods early on Monday morning

The death of 22-year old Michael Motiuk of Edmonton has been declared a homicide after an autopsy was completed on Tuesday.
Police were called to a disturbance at a home on Millwoods Road East just before 5 a.m., on Monday, August 6. When they arrived, police and EMS found the victim suffering from injuries that they believe were a result of an altercation at the home. It is believed that Michael Motiuk died as a result of a machete attack.
Michael Motiuk was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Medical Examiners Office has determined that the man died as a result of a stabbing.
Edmonton Police Homicide Detectives continue to investigate the murder, which is Edmonton’s 17th this year.
