Alleged Calgary gang member Tien Ngoc Ho has been removed from Canada, according to the Canada Border Services Agency.
The 25‑year-old Calgary man was removed to Vietnam under escort by CBSA officers on August 13. The CBSA says he was removed from Canada for “serious criminality.”
In 2009 police found seven loaded handguns in Tien Ngoc Ho’s home and in his girlfriend’s car. He has been in jail since then.
Ho was ordered deported in December 2011 following 26 firearms-related convictions, for which he received a term of imprisonment of six years.
He was released into CBSA custody on July 13, 2012, and remained in detention pending his removal from Canada on the basis that he was a danger to the public.
Tien Ngoc Ho has not lived in Vietnam since he was a child.
The CBSA says it is committed to removing foreign criminals from Canada.
