Speed and alcohol considered factors in collision
Leduc rollover claims the life of a 29-year old Devon man
A 29-year old Devon man is dead after an early morning collision in Leduc on Friday, August 17.
The accident occurred just after 1:30 a.m., near the Tim Hortons at 8002 Sparrow Crescent in Leduc. Leduc RCMP and EMS were quick to respond to the single vehicle rollover accident.
Constable Tim Gaultois of the Leduc RCMP says police believe the driver of the 2012 Ford Escape was northbound on Highway 2 when he took the off ramp to Sparrow Crescent and struck the guard rail. The SUV then rolled several times before coming to a rest on its wheels in a water filled ditch.
The Devon man was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.
Constable Gaultois says police believe that speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash. The collision remains under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
The name of the man is not being release, pending notification of next of kin.
