Victim in critical condition
Red Deer stabbing victim in critical condition in hospital
On Tuesday, a 36-year old man was taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital suffering from stab wounds during an altercation in Rotary Park.
Red Deer RCMP were called to the scene along with Emergency Health Services. When officers and crews arrived, they discovered that the victim had already been driven to the hospital for treatment.
The 36-year old man is in critical condition and is suffering from a life-threatening injury.
Sergeant Steve Black of the Red Deer RCMP says a person of interest was found nearby and is currently in police custody. No charges have been laid.
The victim and the suspect are both 36-year old men from Red Deer. Sergeant Black says no names will be released at this time.
Red Deer City RCMP are continuing the investigation into the stabbing.
