Bow River advisory only lifted several days ago

Rafters were rescued near the Harry Boothman bridge.
Six rafters were pulled from the Bow River Saturday afternoon by the Calgary Fire Department.
At approximately 5:50 this afternoon the Calgary Fire Department responded to the Bow River near the Harry Boothman Bridge foot bridge area for reports of an overturned raft and people in distress. The bridge is near Edworthy Park, which is part of the Bow River pathway system.
Upon arrival crews discovered that an inflatable raft had overturned and all six adult occupants were in the water.
The Calgary Fire Department Aquatics Rescue Team and Boat rescued the six rafters from the river and safely transported them to shore.
Care of one female rafter was transferred to EMS, according to the fire department.
All occupants in the raft were wearing their personal floatation devices at the time which assisted in their safe outcome.
The fire department reminds Calgarians to wear their personal floatation devices and exercise caution while on all waterways.
