Michelle Mohr went missing during trip from Red Deer to Edmonton
Body of Michelle Mohr found in back seat of her car
The body of 50-year old Michelle Mohr from Red Deer was discovered in a parking lot in south Edmonton on Thursday afternoon.
The Edmonton Journal reports that a young woman told police officers at the scene “That’s my mom”.
On Thursday night, Edmonton Police confirmed that the body of Michelle Mohr was found in the back seat of her Volkswagen Beetle at the William Lutsky YMCA parking lot located at 1975 111 St.
Michelle Mohr had been reported missing to Red Deer City RCMP after she left home on June 30 for a visit with her daughter in Edmonton. She had not been heard from since.
According to the Red Deer Advocate, Michelle Mohr was a dietary aide at Piper Lodge in Red Deer.
Police secured the area around Mohr’s car and are continuing to investigate the incident. Investigators from the Edmonton Police Service along with the Medical Examiner were at the scene on Thursday evening.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death is scheduled for today.
