Police arrest Lloyd Gerard of Calgary in connection with Beiseker two-vehicle fatality

Lloyd Gerard facing charges after allegedly fleeing scene of two-vehicle fatal collision near Beiseker
40-year old Lloyd Louis Gerard of Calgary is in police custody and is facing charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal two-vehicle crash near Beiseker early on the morning of Thursday June 21.
Lloyd Gerard was arrested on Thursday evening by the Calgary Police Service after an investigation by members of the Airdrie RCMP and the RCMP Criminal Crash Investigation Team.
Corporal Darrin Turnbull of the Airdrie RCMP says “several witnesses have come forward to help the police with this investigation. Police are still asking any other witnesses who may have observed the Dark Blue 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck before the collision or any persons walking on foot after the collision, to call the Airdrie RCMP”.
Police believe that Lloyd Gerard was driving a dark blue 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck, heading south on Highway 9, when it collided with a north bound Nissan Pathfinder. Sadly, the lone occupant of the SUV, a 51-year old woman from Beiseker died at the scene of the crash.
It is alleged that Lloyd Gerard then fled the scene of the collision.
Lloyd Gerard has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and failing to remain at the scene of a collision having caused death. He is expected to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on the morning of Friday, June 22.
