Police used armoured vehicle with ramming device to get inside garage
Patrick Crawford now facing charges in south Edmonton standoff
46-year old Patrick Crawford is facing multiple charges after a 16-hour standoff ended in Edmonton on the afternoon of Monday, June 18.
On Sunday, June 17, police were called to the home in Riverbend in response to a domestic dispute call at about 7 p.m.
Edmonton Police believed that Crawford was alone inside the home and had access to at least one firearm.
The EPS Tactical Team was called in to assist. They brought in the heavy duty equipment – a police armoured vehicle with a ramming device. The vehicle was used to get inside the garage after police had lost contact with the accused.
When he was arrested, Crawford was unharmed and fully co-operative with arresting officers. He was taken by EMS to hospital as a precaution.
Patrick Crawford has been charged with uttering threats, pointing a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a fire arm, unauthorized possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and careless use/storage of a firearm.
