British Army parachuter injured in training jump near Beiseker
Soldier in Alberta on four-day training program
A 25-year old member of the British Army was injured when he spun out of control while parachuting during a training exercise near the Beiseker airport during the evening of Monday, June 11.
The training exercise started out normally when the man’s parachute deployed properly after he jumped out of the plane. However, during his decent, the man began to spin out of control and he crashed into the ground.
Constable Meagan Fillion of the Airdrie RCMP says that fortunately, the parachuter survived but he did sustain non life-threatening injuries when he hit the ground.
The service man was then taken to hospital in Calgary by EMS and treated for his injuries.
