Bomb threat closes Cross Iron Mills Mall store
H&M evacuated
Airdrie RCMP are investigating after a bomb threat was called in to the H&M store at the Cross Iron Mills Mall near Balzac on Wednesday afternoon.
Staff at the store immediately evacuated the shop after receiving the call at 1:20 p.m., and contacted police.
Sergeant Pat Neely of the RCMP says the RCMP explosive disposal unit was consulted and an RCMP service dog trained in detecting explosives was brought in to search the store. The RCMP service dog did not find a bomb.
The store was re-opened at 2:15 p.m.
Sergeant Neely says “The RCMP takes all threats very seriously and reminds the public that it is an offence to call in any such threat. An investigation is continuing into this matter”.
