Child found unresponsive after nap
Airdrie RCMP investigate death of baby boy
A 10-month old baby boy from Airdrie died on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 27. Airdrie RCMP are investigating the death of the infant.
Airdrie RCMP and EMS were called to the baby’s home at just after 2 p.m. The baby’s mom found him unresponsive after a nap.
The baby was then taken by ambulance to the Alberta Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday, June 28 in an attempt to determine the cause of death.
Sergeant Patricia Neely of the RCMP says “The family has been cooperating with the investigation, and are distraught over the death of their child. At this time, the family is requesting privacy while they grieve their loss”.

The mother of a six month old baby boy has been charged with manslaughter after the death of the child in June of 2011.
