Kather El-Khatib is Calgary's fourth homicide victim of 2012

The Calgary Police have officially called the death of Kather (Ken) El-Khatib a homicide.  El-Khatib is the fourth homicide victim in the city of Calgary in 2012.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that Kather El-Khatib died as a result of a shooting.  He was shot while sitting in his SUV in the 4300 block of 19 Ave S.E.

El-Khatib’s body was found by a female associate around 1:15 on Friday, May 25.

Calgary Police are releasing a photo of El-Khatib’s SUV, a 1992 dark green Ford Bronco in hopes of generating information that may assist with the investigation.

CPS investigators are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area during the early morning hours of May 25 to please contact the Calgary Police.  Police also ask anyone who has any information about the victim’s whereabouts earlier in the evening to contact them.

A motive for the crime has not yet been established.
