Edmonton Police identify Phillipp Woehrle as deceased man found in burning basement

Phillipp Woehrle found in burning home

Edmonton Police have identified the man who was found in the basement of a burning home on the morning of May 8, 2012.

28-year old Phillipp Jochen Woehrle was found by firefighters in a burning home in the area of 129 St and 117 Ave.

The Medical Examiner has determined that the manner of death to be homicide and the cause of death is not being released at this time.

Edmonton Police Homicide Section is leading the investigation.  The Edmonton Fire Department and the Edmonton Police Arson Unit are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.

Edmonton Police are asking anyone who knew the whereabouts or activities of Phillipp Woehrle in the days leading up to May 8 to please contact the EPS at 780 423 4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 2222 8477.
