Edmonton homicide victim found in burning home

Fire crews were called to a house fire in northeast Edmonton on Tuesday, May 8.  The body of a man was found in the basement of the home located on 129 St near 117 Ave.

After the man’s body was found, the Edmonton Fire Department brought the Edmonton Police into the investigation into the blaze.

The Medical Examiner has determined that the manner of death was homicide.  The cause of death is not being released at this time and the identity of the man, believed to be in his late 20′s, has not yet been confirmed.

The Edmonton Police Homicide Section is leading the investigation into the homicide and the Edmonton Fire Department and EPS Arson Unit are investigating the cause of the fire.
