Three people hospitalized
Collision east of Red Deer sends three people to hospital
Blackfalds RCMP were called to the scene of a two car collision on the morning of Saturday, April 14.
At just after 8 a.m., police were notified about a two vehicle collision about five Kilometres east of Red Deer on Highway 11.
So far, police believe that an older model Mercury Cougar was westbound when it lost control and crossed the centre line into the path of an eastbound Toyota Matrix.
The occupants of the Cougar, a 19-year old man and a 21-year old woman, both from Stettler, were taken to Red Deer Hospital with serious injuries. The 28-year old woman in the Matrix was also taken to Red Deer Hospital. She was suffering from minor injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, and police believe slippery roads and poor weather were likely factors in the crash.
Blackfalds RCMP Detachment is being assisted by the Red Deer area Collsion Analyst in the investigation into the collision. At this time, no charges have been laid.
